“Dare to Dream” by Michael Breault
The
song “Over the Rainbow” suggests that there is a place where dreams come true
and skies are blue.
Dreams become reality when goals are realistic and persistence is unfailing.
Potential
is realized when obstacles are seen as mere detours as opposed to
roadblocks. You are the place where dreams
come true.
Some
perceived “detours” in 2007 may have been poor health, loss of confidence, loss
of a loved one, a bad habit. Detours,
however, allow us to find another way to happiness, despite some minor
setbacks. We set goals at the start of the new year hoping to avoid some
pitfalls of the past year. We
“re-evaluate” our lives in terms of what could make us happy, ultimately a
better person.
If
you are a goal-oriented individual, you probably make that New Year’s
resolution on the eve, and reflect upon that goal throughout the year. You tweak the goal according to your needs
and are ready to determine the need for a new goal or revised goal at the close
of the year.
If
you are not compelled to reflect and re-evaluate your efforts annually, you
should probably at least recall the words in the song… “that dreams that you
dare to dream really do come true.”
Your dreams won’t arrive without your effort.
Be
daring. Make your persistence
contagious in 2008, allowing you to realize your dreams. Make the detours a distant memory for you.
And
may your skies always be blue. Happy
New Year.
