SUMMARY OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND EXPECTATIONS
CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION
- Provides
leadership to instructional staff to ensure the integration of
instructional practices and curriculum to enhance student achievement.
- Works
collaboratively with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction
- Evaluates
and introduces instructional materials that support instructional goals.
- Monitors
student progress utilizing federal and state measures and uses results to
improve student learning.
- Supports
and encourages the use of technology as an instructional and
administrative tool.
STAFF PERSONNEL
- Responsible
for planning and implementing teacher duties, assignments, programs, and
schedules.
- Exercises
major responsibilities of recruiting, screening, hiring, assigning,
evaluating, and dismissing the school staff.
- Communicates
school and district policies, practices, and general information to all
staff.
- Supervises
office and ancillary personnel in order to support faculty and student
needs.
PUPIL PERSONNEL
- Implements
(through approved means and as directed by the Superintendent) Board policies
and administrative regulations that provide educational conditions under
which child and teacher may work to their best advantage.
- Recommends
changes and implements student handbook.
FINANCE AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
- Responsible
for monitoring approved school budget including purchasing, and
maintenance of records in accordance with district, local, state, and
federal requirements.
- Responsible
for developing a budget that addresses the needs of all students and
staff.
- Manages
Student Activity Account in accordance with local and state guidelines.
SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND EQUIPMENT
- Cooperatively
assists in the supervision and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and
equipment.
- Identifies
and addresses facility needs in order to ensure a safe and healthy
learning environment for all students.
SCHOOL-COMMUNITY RELATIONS
- Recognizes
accomplishments and achievements of students and staff.
- Maintains
cooperative liaison with the other schools in the District.
- Responsible
for promoting the school’s program to the community through whatever means
possible and enlists the participation of the community in school
activities.
- Works
cooperatively with the School Council, the Parent Teacher Organization
(PTO) and the Sutton Educational Foundation to enhance school programs and
services.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- In conjunction
and collaboration with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction develops
programs and activities to support the professional growth of staff
personnel.
SUPPORTING SERVICES
- In
conjunction and collaboration with the Director of Special Education
plans, develops, and/or implements programs and services to address the
needs of all students.
