ASIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Interpret, communicate, and provide for implementation of District goals to school staff; coordinate and development of specific school goals; and identify personnel expectations relative to these goals.
2. Plan, organize, and utilize resources for development and implementation of school curriculum within District guidelines, appropriate for students served in the school; and communicate to other divisions and departments the educational needs and services required to implement school programs.
3. Select, assign, and supervise assigned staff; provide appropriate in-service training to meet specific needs of individuals and school departments; identify and communicate in-service needs of teachers, administrators, and classified staff to appropriate District staff; identify, implement, and coordinate procedures and practices which are conducive to job effectiveness and satisfaction; and evaluate assigned staff in accordance with District procedures.
4. Identify and describe budget needs for program implementation; establish fiscal procedures for accurate accounting and inventory practices; and coordinate effective and efficient utilization of budget allocation for implementation of program.
5. Coordinate, utilize, and evaluate all District services and programs as they affect the operation of the school.
6. Provide leadership and supervision necessary for the continuing operation and improvement of the instructional program and other school programs.
7. Establish and follow procedures that insure accurate student records and attendance accounting, efficient management of the school plant, and effective utilization of District transportation facilities.
8. Direct activities necessary to support a program of student counseling and discipline by conferring with parents, health, and guidance staffs, attendance officers, and teachers concerning problems of student adjustment; provide consistent disciplinary measures necessary to conduct the school; and maintain standards and insure compliance with the rules and regulations of the District and the laws of the state.
9. Direct activities necessary to support the educational program of the middle school by guiding the organization and operation of student clubs, student government, intramurals, speech/drama and musical groups, and special interest activities; plan, organize and implement measures to insure crowd control and pupil safety in connection with school operation and activities; and plan, organize, and implement emergency procedures relating to the safety and well-being of pupils and staff members.
10. Identify criteria pertinent to the evaluation of District programs, particularly the instructional program, gather and interpret data from relevant sources relating to program effectiveness; and take steps to correct deficiencies and maintain and improve strengths.
11. Disseminate and interpret information relative to school and District programs; establish communication with members of the immediate school community in order to maintain their support and confidence; and identify and make recommendations regarding areas of educational and staff concern which directly or indirectly affect pupils, teaching staff, principals, vice principals, and other staff members.
