POSITION TITLE:  Director, Before & After School Care Program/Summer Care Program

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree (in education preferred), Related Experience, including financial management

 

REPORTS TO:  Building Principals, Superintendent of Schools

 

DEPARTMENT: Day Care Administration

                           Personnel and/or Programs

                           Site Supervisors

   Group Leaders

                           Group Aides

                           Before School Care Teachers

                           Building Use

                           Children registered within the program

 

STAFF PERSONNEL

  1. Responsible for planning programs, schedules, and assignment of staff.
  2. Exercises major responsibilities of recruiting, screening, hiring, assigning, evaluating, and dismissing the program staff.
  3. Provides/organizes applicable training for program staff.
  4. Remains current with appropriate local, state, and federal regulations and requirements.

 

FINANCE AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

  1. Responsible for recording and maintaining accurate records for deposit, staff payroll, purchased supplies, etc.
  2. Responsible for maintaining accurate accounting and billing records for parents.
  3. Ensures that the program remains self-supporting by accurately preparing a profit and loss statement.

 

SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND EQUIPMENT

  1. Cooperatively assists in the supervising and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

 

SCHOOL-COMMUNITY RELATIONS

  1. Recognizes accomplishments and achievements of students and staff.
  2. Maintains cooperative liaison with the building Principals..
  3. Responsible for the interpretation of the school’s program to the community and enlists the participation of the community in the program.

 

SUPPORTING SERVICES

  1. Assists in the implementation of supportive services in meeting the needs of students and staff.
