POSITION TITLE:
Facilities Manager
REPORTS TO:
Superintendent
DESCRIPTION: Responsible for planning and coordinating
activities and services relating to building and equipment maintenance, HVAC
and plumbing for physical plants. Responsible for implementing OSHA and ADA
compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree with a concentration in operations management or
relevant, equivalent experience. Experience and/or knowledge of heating and
cooling devices, plumbing, roofs, general building infrastructure and
equipment. Strong human relations skills desired. Must be able to work evenings
and weekends.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects
and evaluates physical plant and related equipment
- Makes
recommendations for maintenance, repairs, and service
- Evaluates
and make recommendations to superintendent for improving plant, grounds,
and equipment maintenance operations
- Confers
with outside contractors to perform activities or supply materials
necessary for department services
- Administers
all operations in accordance with OSHA, ADA, local, state, and federal
legal requirements
- Assists
in system-wide decision making by serving on committees
- Supervises
repair work done by outside maintenance companies
- Maintains
service logs and inventory of facilities and equipment
- Tracks
oil consumption and places orders when necessary
- Participates
in staff development activities
REQUIRED ABILITIES:
- Must
be physically able to lift materials weighing up to 60 pounds
- Must
be able to climb ladders
- Must
be able to handle and work proficiently with common hand and power tools,
screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers
- Knowledge
of Sutton School Committee policies and procedures
- Ability
to work independently
- Effective
verbal and written communication skills
- Must
have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license

Twelve months
