Educational Philosophy

Purpose

The school committee determines policy and guidelines for administrative decisions. The purpose of this manual is to establish committee policies that guide administrative courses of action. This manual shall serve as a guide to administrators and staff members in the daily operation of the schools. It also provides community members and students with the framework under which the Sutton School District functions.

The administration will develop and publish procedures converting policies into actions. Procedures are to be distributed by the administration to the school committee, the elementary and secondary libraries, appropriate staff, as well as made available to the community.

Federal laws and regulations, the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Education Reform Act, regulations of the State Department of Education, and the school committee by‑laws are the legal conditions under which the school committee and the Sutton School District operate.
