Are You Ready for a Challenge?

The earth's sea turtles are in danger and National Geographic needs your help! They need an informed update about each sea turtles species, and they need it right away. It is a matter of great importance!

Sea Turtles have been on Earth for over 150 million years, yet in the last 50 years, all sea turtle species have become in danger of extinction.

The sea turtles have adapted over time and have actually become smaller although, the leatherback sea turtles can still reach over 1,000 lbs.

Why is it that creatures that out lived the dinosaurs are in danger now?

In this WebQuest, you will not only find out this answer, you'll find out ways that you can take action to protect them.

Before you begin, see how much you know about sea turtles. Partner up and go to the Scavenger Hunt for a warm up.  Follow the links to help you educate yourselves on the amazing creatures.  Then, you'll be able to start the WebQuest.

There are many organizations around the world trying to save the sea turtles.  Below are links to a few of these sites. Use these sites to answer the questions in the scavenger hunt.
