Now that you have learned some basics about sea turtles (Scavenger Hunt), it's time to get started on your tasks. Each group will be responsible for one of the following species. The tasks are the same for each turtle, but make sure you focus on only your particular species. | |||||||||||||

Find out what the expectations are and how you will be graded on this
WebQuest first. Read through all the
steps before starting your Assigned Role.
Make sure you understand your task and your group members' tasks before
visiting your role's page. Step 1 ~ Understand the Assignment Expectations Now that you all are in a group, each member must take a role. It may not be a role you agree with, but it is necessary to complete the task. You will visit websites located in the Resources Page to obtain information according to your role. Dig deep to find information to share with your group and eventually, the whole class. Step 2 ~ Individual Research and Writing
Step 3 ~ Group Members Share their Findings All group members must share their findings with their group members. Allow the environmentalist and the fisherman to debate the issue of protecting sea turtles. The biologist and student activist need to listen carefully and choose a side. As a group, you must defend your views in your final project. Provide ways for students, families, and schools to get involved in the issues facing the sea turtles. Step 4 ~ Planning and Creating Final Project Decide, as a group, what your final project will be (Power Point Presentation with at least 14 slides or a Newspaper with at least 4 articles). Click on the links to find the format for each of the assignments. Either one needs to be planned out before you can begin your final project. Step 5 ~ Presenting to the Class Each member needs to take a role while presenting the material to the class. Make sure you're information is accurate and that you have cited all your sources. Be creative, and have fun!
