 * Find out what the expectations are and how you will be graded on this WebQuest first. Read through all the steps before starting your Assigned Role.  Make sure you understand your task and your group members' tasks before visiting your role's page.

Step 1 ~ Understand the Assignment Expectations

Now that you all are in a group, each member must take a role.  It may not be a role you agree with, but it is necessary to complete the task. You will visit websites located in the Resources Page to obtain information according to your role. Dig deep to find information to share with your group and eventually, the whole class.

Step 2 ~ Individual Research and Writing

  1. After researching and evaluating the sites necessary for your role, you'll need to write about your findings.  You need to answer all the questions you are assigned with NOTE FACTS in your own words.  (This is done with paper and pencil.)
  2. Organize your information in a well-designed Inspiration document.
  3. Start a new MS Word document and save it on the network drive.
  4. Summarize the answers to your questions.  This needs to be 5 paragraphs in length, written in the 2nd person.
  5. Insert the 4 or 5 pictures you have saved (see below) at the bottom of your typed paragraphs.
  6. Cite all sources used to answer your questions (pictures and information).
  7. http://citationmachine.net/index.php?source=14#here

Step 3 ~ Group Members Share their Findings

All group members must share their findings with their group members. Allow the environmentalist and the fisherman to debate the issue of protecting sea turtles.  The biologist and student activist need to listen carefully and choose a side.  As a group, you must defend your views in your final project. Provide ways for students, families, and schools to get involved in the issues facing the sea turtles.

Step 4 ~ Planning and Creating Final Project

Decide, as a group, what your final project will be (Power Point Presentation with at least 14 slides or a Newspaper with at least 4 articles).  Click on the links to find the format for each of the assignments.  Either one needs to be planned out before you can begin your final project.

Step 5 ~ Presenting to the Class

Each member needs to take a role while presenting the material to the class.  Make sure you're information is accurate and that you have cited all your sources. Be creative, and have fun!
