Legal Notice RE: Asbestos
August 7, 2018
TO: Parents, Teachers, Building Occupants, and Employee Organizations
In 1986, Congress passed the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), which requires schools to be inspected to identify any asbestos-containing building materials.
The following buildings contain no asbestos-containing building materials; therefore, no operations and maintenance programs, or future inspections are required:
Elementary School
Middle/High School
The Simonian Center for Early Learning has been inspected and asbestos-containing building materials were identified. We are required, by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act, to notify you that an Asbestos Management Plan has been developed for our school. This plan is available to review in the Superintendent's Office. Asbestos-containing materials in the school are routinely investigated.
